Oatmeal Porridge (4 servings)

Oatmeal porridge gets your day off with a healthy start however oats contain gluten and are therefore not suitable for people with coeliac disease, in this case millet flakes can be used to make good alternative porridge. 

Ingredients for Oatmeal Porridge

4 cups of water
1 cup pinhead oatmeal
pinch of salt
clear honey to taste
non-dairy milk to serve

Preparation Method for Oatmeal Porridge

To oatmeal porridge, put water, pinhead oatmeal and salt into heavy pan and bring to boil over a medium heat, stirring with a wooden spatula.  When porridge is smooth and beginning to thicken reduce the heat to a simmer.

Cook gently for about 25 minutes stirring occasionally, until the oatmeal is cooked and become smooth.  Sweeten with honey, and served hot with non-dairy milk.  You can to with fresh fruit, such as banana.
