Sea Vegetable With Snow Peas (4-6 servings)

 

Sea Vegetable With Snow Peas Ingredients

1 cup arame
1 cup snow peas
4 dried shiitake mushrooms
1–2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
2 tablespoons grated ginger
2 tablespoons roasted sesame seeds

Sea Vegetable With Snow Peas Preparation Method

Rinse the arame in water and drain. Clean and rinse the snow peas. Wash the mushrooms and soak them in water until they are soft. To speed up the process, you can use boiling water. After the mushrooms are reconstituted, trim off the stems (save them for stock) and slice.

Put sesame oil in a sauté pan. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté them for five minutes. Add the arame, and just enough water (filtered) to cover the mushrooms. Cover, bring to a boil, and cook for fifteen minutes. Add snow peas and cook for three to five minutes, until snow peas are just tender. Do not overcook. Carefully drain excess liquid, put the mixture into a bowl, and season with soy sauce and ginger. Garnish with sesame seeds.
